To all Jon Shorter Band enthusiasts,
About a month ago, we applied to compete in the 2012 Waka Winter Classic, A battle of the bands that produces one victor from each of 17 cities across the region to perform at the legendary Wakarusa festival in the summer.
We just received confirmation this morning that we've been accepted to compete! We don't have any details yet, but as we get a response from the hosting production company, you'll know what we know.
We would like for you to commit yourselves to Thursday, January 19th now, though, as the winner is audience-determined, and your vote counts in getting us into Wakarusa this year! Please clear your schedules, facebook your friends, text a stranger, hijack a public broadcast system, and any other talent you can muster to help us get some friends to Georges in 2 weeks to cheer for Jon Shorter Band.

Jon Shorter Band is now taking your local radio stations over. Ok, thats highly innacurate, however we are getting
more and more support from local DJs. We would like to give a TREMENDOUS thank you to Kristen and Alissa at KRUZ 94.9
FM, who have been very generous in putting us on rotation almost every Sunday night from 7-8pm. We would also like to bow down
to the infamous Dr. Dan Robinson at 104.9 The X for helping us to get some exposure each Sunday from 10-midnight!
Dr. Dan? Kristy? Alissa, if you guys are reading this, please know how appreciative we are of your help.

You get the Jon Shorter Band, who at less than a year old, has sprung up out Fayetteville, to become one of the most notorious bands in North Western Arkansas. Fusing pop rock, jam band, and funk, Jon Shorter and The Gateway Band have amassed a following of believers always eager for the next gig.
